Obituary – Mrs. Henry Hypes
Mary Frances, daughter of Meredith and Martha Hutt was born in Boon County, Missouri, April 10, 1840, and died Feb 22, 1910, age 61 years, 10 months and 11 days. In 1866 with her parents she came to Iowa, and March 25th, 1869 was united in marriage to Henry Hypes. To this union was born 10 children, all of whom survive her except one which passes away in infancy. 37 years ago she united with the Christian Church at Indianola, Ia., and lived a Christian the rest of her life. Mrs. Hypes was a kind and loving mother, ever mindful of her children’s welfare and ever appreciating their love and devotion for her. The bereaved husband and children have the sympathy of all in this their hour of sorrow. Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord. The children were all present at the funeral except one who could not from some cause be present. One brother from Kansas was present and two half brothers and two half sisters and a step mother were all present. She leaves a kind and loving husband, nine children, 14 grandchildren, 6 brothers, 3 sisters and a step mother to mourn her loss.
