Marriage of G. F. Root and Emma J.
Wolcott
~
A happy and very pleasant event took place New Year’s night at the residence of Assistant Superintendent Wolcott, of the C. C. & D. M. Railroad. His daughter Emma was married to Mr. G. F. Root, of New Hartford, Iowa, a well-to-do and prosperous farmer, and a young man highly esteemed by all who know him, just such a man as will make Miss Emma a good and devoted husband. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Dr. Bingham, of the Congregational Church. Mr. Moses Martin and Miss Harrington, Mr. L. Kroll and Miss Mary Martin acted as groomsmen and bridesmaids. The wedding was attended by a few invited friends of the parties. The usual happy congratulations took place, and a bounteous wedding supper was served. Miss Emma is no doubt happy in the choice of so excellent a husband. She is an accomplished lady, having taught school for a number of years, the past season at Charles City.
