WILSON, ANDY, farmer, Palmyra Township, Sec. 4; P. O. Hartford; born in Rulaski county, Kentucky, December 14, 1820; his parents moved to Owen county, Indiana, in 1822, where the subject of this sketch was raised; in 1858 he came to Appanoose county, Iowa, and from there to this county, in 1875, and has since resided on his present homestead, which consists of eighty acres of good land; was married January 15, 1850, to Miss Margaret Whitaker, a native of Jefferson county, Kentucky; they have four children living: Sarah E., John K., William E. and E. P. M.; he was left an orphan at five years of age, and had to battle with the world for all that he has.
