The following men and women have been selected as typical of the outstanding recognition achieved by alumni of Simpson College in representative fields of endeavor:

MISSIONS - Brenton H. Badley (April 27, 1849 – November 20, 1891)
Brenton H. Badley, pioneer missionary in India; first graduate of Simpson college; first missionary representing Simpson College in India; founder of Reid Christian College, Lucknow, India; recognized as one of the outstanding founders of missionary work in India, and as a forerunner of modern theory of Indian missions; father of Bishop Brenton Thoburn Badley of India, who furthers the Simpson leadership in the missions of India; honor student in first graduating class of Simpson, class of 1870.
