William Schults obit look up please

I am wondering if you can give me some insight about the marriage records for Wapello County, Iowa.

My husband's great-grandfather, William Schults, was married in Wapello County on 20 July 1871 to Sarah Ellen Pollock. The marriage record I have been able to find is not the one that provides information regarding parents, etc.

I am at a brick wall with respect to William Schults. Census records indicate he was born in Ohio and he apparently died between Dec 1881 and Dec 1882 since Sarah has a child born 11 Dec 1882 and she states the father to be William Schults (deceased).

I cannot find a death record, obituary or any additional information on William. There was never any indication of his family passed down to his son who was my husband's grandfather.

Can somebody please go to the courthouse in Ottumwa and see if there is a possible obit or marriage record with more info contained? I would appreciate it a lot. I have been working a very long time on this family.
