Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” Wednesday, May 29, 1968:

Ross Keeler, 70, of 125 S. Ransom, died of a heart attack at his home Tuesday at 12:40 p.m.

A retired cement finisher, he was the son of Warren and Sarah Jane Poling Keeler, born at Mount Sterling June 17, 1897. He had been a resident of Ottumwa 44 years.

He married Mildred L. Johnson on May 25, 1936, at Memphis, Mo. She survives as do one son, Marvin E. Keeler of June Lake, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Eunice Hubbartt of Tinley Park, Ill., and Mrs. Marilyn Glackin of Lakewood, Calif.; and eight grandchildren. He also leaves one brother, Rex Keeler, of Lewis, Colo., and two sisters, Mrs. Rena Buckles of Davenport and Mrs. Reeba Leathers of Fairfield. He was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph.

The service will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Ash of Willard Street Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Pallbearers are Phil Paxton, Lamar Cantril, Donald Bayne, Delbert Henness, Richard Keller and Larry Johnson.
