Obituary; From “Ottumwa Courier,” Thursday, February 28, 1929:

Mrs. Carrie Bunnell, 58 years old, died at 1:25 a.m. today at her home, 815 East Finley avenue. She is survived by her husband, S.U. Bunnell, and the following children: Mrs. Leland Nason of Eldon, Mrs. E.J. Shaffer of Ottumwa, Arthur Channell of Ottumwa and Orval Channell of Des Moines.

The body was taken to the Roscoe mortuary to await the completion of funeral arrangements.

“BUNNELL SERVICE,” From “Ottumwa Courier,” Friday, March 1, 1929:

Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Bunnell, who died early Thursday morning, will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 from the Roscoe mortuary. The services will be in charge of the Rev. A.D. McClure and interment will be made in Shaul cemetery.

(Note: It appears that this last name was spelled both Bunnel and Bunnell. Carrie was the wife of Stephen (Barney) Bunnel, who died December 14, 1937. Stephen’s obituary has also been posted on this site.
