Kenneth L. Williams, 82, of Ottumwa died September 2, 2018 at his home.

He was born February 18, 1936 in Keosauqua to James L. and Sylvia I. Mathias Williams. He married Patricia A. Hughes on August 7, 1958.

Kenny graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1954 where he was active in Legion baseball and basketball. He was a member of the 1953 team that took second place in the state basketball tournament. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served from 1958-1960. He worked at John Morrell & Co. until closing in 1972 and then worked at John Deere Ottumwa Works from 1973 until retiring in 1996. He then worked at the Ottumwa Courier until his second retirement in 2012.

He was a member of Hickory Grove Community Church. He was active in church youth and adult ministry for over 50 years. Kenny played sports until age 70 and also coached National Little League and Babe Ruth baseball for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia of Ottumwa; two sons, Jeffrey (Debra) Williams of Des Moines and Kevin (Yasuyo) Fukuzato Williams of Airway Heights, WA; five grandchildren, Joshua Williams of Ankeny, Elizabeth Williams of Ankeny, Jeremy (Sarah) Williams of Colfax, Angela Williams of Grimes and Noah Williams of Airway Heights, WA; a great grandson, Logan Williams of Colfax; two brothers, Don (Doris) Williams of Cedar Rapids and Jerry (Linda) Williams of Ottumwa; two sisters, Ruth Williams of Palm Bay, FL and Sandra (Ed) Lunkley of Pella.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Clifford, Clinton and Carl Williams.

His body has been cremated and no services are planned per his wishes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to MISSIONS, c/o Hickory Grove Community Church, 3929 Hwy 63 South, Ottumwa, IA 52501 or Hospice serving Davis and Wapello Counties, 927 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Ottumwa, IA.
