I'm curious which JOHNSTON line in Van Buren County you are researching? My mother's JOHNSON line (originally JOHNSTON) arrived in VBCo in 1838. PA to OH to IND to IA.

I'm not aware of any pioneer certificates issued from the Van Buren County Genealogy Society. But the Iowa Genealogical Society has this program. See the link below.
