Doris M. Richard

Doris M. Richard, 70, of Birmingham, died at 9:35 a.m. May 13, 1993, at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

She was born Nov. 19, 1922, in Keokuk to Henry M. and Mary Hazeel Miller South. She married Harold H. Richard on Sept. 4, 1943, in Kahoka, Mo. He died Sept. 4, 1979.

She moved to Birmingham in 1977 from Gasville, Ark. She was a homemaker and member of Suburban Heights Baptist Church in Fairfield.

She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Wells of Birmingham; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Beverly Ann; her parents; two brothers, Victor and Donald; and two sisters, Evelyn and Wilma.

The service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 1993 at Suburban Heights Baptist Church in Fairfield, the Rev. Ed Parkere officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.

Memorials may be made to her church or American Cancer Society.

Behner Funeral Home, Fairfield, was in charge of arrangements.
