Minnie M. Williams
Minnie M. Williams, 83,of Birmingham, died at 1:10 A.M. Sunday, April 18, 1993, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center, Keosauqua.
She was born September 5, 1909 in Van Buren County, near Birmingham to S. Asa and Effie Lee Jones. She married Lester L. Williams July 24, 1928 in Fairfield. He died August 13, 1982.
She and her husband farmed south of Birmingham. She moved into Birmingham in 1983 and entered the Good Samaritan Center in September, 1989. She was affiliated with the Birmingham United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, Rex, Birmingham, 3 daughters, Donna Johnson, Ottumwa, Joyce Lenz, Spencer and Barbara Anderson, Birmingham, 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, a brother J.R. "Sam" Jones, Birmingham, 2 sisters, Mary Barnett, Cantril and Edna Wright, Monroe, Ga.
She was preceded in death by 4 brothers, John, William, Stanley "Jiggs", and George Jones, a sister, Lucinda Rinabarger, a granddaughter and a great grandson.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 1993 in the Birmingham United Methodist Church, Rev. Sara Malone officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery, Birmingham.
Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials to Van Buren Good Samaritan Center may be left at the funeral home.
