Mary J. Johnston

Mary J. Johnston, 74, of Stockport Route 1 died at 4:25 a.m. April 17, 1933, at Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.

She was born Sept. 7, 1918, in Ottumwa and raised by James and Maude Spears. She married Don Johnston on June 6, 1948, in Ottumwa.

She lived in Ottumwa until her marriage, when she and her husband moved to Stockport. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Utica Ladies Aid and Davis Street Christian Church in Ottumwa.

She is survived by her husband.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Doris Nochi; and two brothers, Don and James.

The service was held at 3 p.m. Monday, April 19, 1993 at Burch-Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham, the Rev. Ellis Beeman officiating. Burial was in Dibble Cemetery south of Stockport.

Memorials may be made to Stockport community organizations at the funeral home.
