Margaret Philp, 82, Farmington, died Thursday, October 28, 1993, at her home.
She was born January 13, 1011, at Clark County, Missouri, the daughter of Joseph and Jenny Reardon Gallup. She married Lloyd E. Philp on September 21, 1936, at Burlington. He died October 21, 1984.
Mrs. Philp had lived on the same farm for 45 years. She attended the Embury United Methodist Church in Donnellson, and was a member of the United Methodist Women.
Surviving are two son, Charles Philp, Appleton, Wisconsin, and Neil Philp, Farmington; four daughters, Marilyn Ekle and Barbara Munford, both of Farmington, Joan Rohdy, Donnellson, and Jean Lobo, Costa Rica; 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three sisters, Katharine Sourwine and Lucille Miller, both of Burlington, and Alice Dustman, Frazier Park, California.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, four brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 1, at the Embury Church. Reverend John Cornish officiated. Burial was in Sandusky Cemetery, north of Keokuk.
A memorial has been established for the Embury Church.
The Hofbauer Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
