Marguerite Hartley

H. Marguerite Hartley, 85, formerly of Salem, died at 11:55 a.m. Friday, June 7, 1991 at her home in Central City.

Born January 28, 1906 at Rome, Iowa she was the daughter of Oscar and Emma Jackson Sanburg. She married Knight Hartley on December 28, 1935 at Salem. He died February 25, 1988.

She was a charter member of the Professional Businesswomen's Club of Mount Pleasant, the American Legion Auxiliary and was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. She had worked at Hillsboro Savings Bank.

Surviving are her daughter Norma Jean Stecker of Central City and three grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Hartley were held Monday, June 10 at the Salem Friends Church with Reverend Jonna Jensen officiating. Burial was in Salem South Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established to the Central City Ambulance Fund.
