Velma H. Dick

Velma H. Dick, 82, died at 4:45 a.m. November 29, 1991, at Fort Madison Health Center.

She was born May 4, 1909, in Keosauqua to James and Hazel Cocherell Beck. She married James Dick on Sept. 28, 1930, in Keosauqua. He died Nov. 12, 1966.

She was a cook at the Van Buren Schools for six years and a member of Fort Madison Christian Church, the church's Peacemaker Circle and Fort Madison Senior Citizens. She also had belonged to Rebekah Lodge, Pythian Sisters, and the Degree of Honor, all of Douds.

She is survived by two sons, Neil of Chariton and Dennis of Muscatine; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers.

The service was held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 2, 1991 at King-Lynk Funeral Home in Fort Madison, the Rev. Don Walters officiating. Burial was in Mount Moriah Cemetery in Douds.

Memorial may be made to Mount Moriah Cemetery.
