John Daniels

John Daniels, 89, of Fairfield Route 4 died at 5:12 a.m. Sept. 24, 1991, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

He was born March 15, 1902, in Ottumwa to John and Mabel Tanner Daniels. He married Mable G. Doud Feb. 28, 1922, in Ottumwa.

He was a member of Knights of Pythias and worked as a miner and carpenter until retiring.

He is survived by his wife; a son, John of Gulfport, Miss.; two daughters, Darlene Hansen of Escondido, Calif., and Audrey Weller of Shawano, Wisc.; four grandchildren; a brother, Clarence of Ottumwa; and two sisters, Margaret Morrow and Alice Brown of Douds.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Elizabeth, Mabel and Edith; and a brother, Arthur.

The service was held Saturday, Sept. 1991 at the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield, the Rev. Kenneth Royar officiating. Burial was in Mount Moriah Cemetery north of Douds.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association or the American Lung Association.

Behner Funeral Home of Fairfield was in charge of arrangements.
