1991Golde M. Ferrel
Golde M. Ferrel, daughter of George and Rachel Pool Laughlin, was born September 17, 1901 near Douds and died at noon Sunday, March 3, 1991 at Park View Care Center, Fairfield, at the age of 89.
She married Frank M. Ferrel September 115, 1920 in Fairfield. He died March 3, 1972.
She was a homemaker and a member of Van Buren County Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
She lived her life in Van Buren and Jefferson Counties except for fourteen years when she and her husband lived in Davenport.
Surviving are a son, Frank L. Ferrel, Sr., and his wife, Dorothy of Birmingham; a daughter, Betty Gonterman and her husband, Ralph of Keosauqua, a daughter-in-law, JoAnn Ferrel of Douds, seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death in addition to her husband were two sons, Darrel and Richard Ferrel, a grandson, Kenneth Ferrel, and three sisters, Dorothy Swartz, Mae Curtis and Edith Lowenberg.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 6, 1991 at 10:30 A.M. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds, with Rev. Stephen Metcalf-Conte officiating. Interment was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery north of Douds. A memorial was established for Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
