Mary Elizabeth Cloke, 77, of Birmingham Route 1, died at 11:50 a.m. September 29, 1991 at Burlington Medical Center.
She was born June 8, 1914, in Van Buren County to Ruben and Cora Brown Cubbage. She married Lester L. Cloke on Sept. 16, 1933, in Kahoka, Mo.
She has lived in Birmingham since 1958. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Hickory Grove Church near Stockport.
She is survived by her husband; six sons, James, Ruben, William and Raymond of Burlington, Robert of Fairbault, Minn. and George of East Brewton, Ala.; five daughters, Irma Patterson of Gary, Ind., Helen Walker of Mission, Texas, Mary Cloke of Fairfield, Rose Saben and Mary Hingst of Burlington; 28 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; three sisters, Irene Adams of Oak Forest, Ill., Violet Hyde of Clarksville, Tenn., and Lucille Tedrow of Fairfield; and three brothers, Eugene and Robert Cubbage of Libertyville and Charles Cubbage of Eldon.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard, Harold and Richard; and a grandson.
The service was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 1991 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, the Revs. Dan Arnold, Ed Wisener and Dean Grant officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.
