Ezra L. Cunningham

Ezra L. Cunningham, 71, of Route 1, Douds, Iowa died at 10:47 a.m. June 21, 1991, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

He was born July 25, 1919, in Farson to Robert J. and Nellie M. Eller Cunningham. He married Esther L. Filson on January 10, 1942, in Kahoka, Mo.

He grew up near Batavia, attended rural schools, and lived in the Birmingham area for the past 45 years. He was a retired farmer. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe and Africa and was a member of Bonnet Community Club.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Edward of Fairfield and Allen and Keith of Douds; a daughter, Linda Cunningham of Douds; three grandchildren; two brothers, Dallas of Ottumwa and Marvin of Pennsylvania; and a sister, Ariel Bates of Silvis Heights, Ill.

The services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 24, 1991 at Burch-Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham, the Revs David Kennedy and Mike Mosier officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.
