Grace E. Huff

Grace E. Huff, daughter of Curtis and Emma Rupe Miller, was born April 7, 1908 near Mt. Sterline and died Wednesday afternoon, November 6, 1991 at the Bloomfield Care Center at the age of 83.

Grace married Raymond Huff on December 9, 1931 at Kirksville, Missouri. He died in 1978.

She graduated from Keosauqua High School in 1927 in the Normal Training program and taught in rural Van Buren County schools four years. She was a farm homemaker and lived her life in the Keosauqua-Cantril area. She was a member of the Keosauqua Christian Church.

Surviving are a daughter Anna Belle Keller of Cantril; three sisters-in-law, Naomi Allen of Mediapolis, Billie Huff of Houston, Arkansas and Susannah Huff of Wapello; three grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Hollis Wayne and Calvin Richard; a sister, Anna Belle Witt; a brother, Ernest Miller, and a half-brother, Eddie Miller.

Funeral services were held November 9 at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua with Reverend Lester Terlouw officiating. Interment was in Lebanon Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Van Buren County Public Health Nursing Service.
