Howard E. Shipley, 79, of Keosauqua died at 2:35 a.m. May 13, 1991, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.
He was born March 20, 1912, near Lebanon to Samuel and Grace Nichols Shipley. He married Pauline Whitcanack on January 13, 1940, in Fairfield.
He farmed near Lebanon and worked at Barker Equipment Co. in Keosauqua and moved from the farm into Keosauqua in September 1989. He was a member of Van Buren County Farm Bureau.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Ruth Ann Wood of Kearney, Mo., and Maxine Leedy of East Moline, Ill; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildern; two brothers, Harold and Edward of Keosauqua; and three sisters, Bessie Kingsbury of Keosauqua, Cleo Davison of Fairfield and Marth Anderson of Davenport.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Louise.
The service was held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 1991 at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, the Rev. Harold Harryman officiating. Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery.
