Miriam Wilson

Miriam Josephine Erhardt Wilson, 72, daughter of Carl and Laura (Lindsay) Erhardt, was born June 14, 1919, in Milton and passed away December 31, in Des Moines.

With her family she moved to Davis County, near Troy and attended grade school and high school in the Troy schools. She attended Normal School at Cedar Galls in preparation for teaching at The Blackaby Country School, south of Troy, where she taught for two years.

On June 19, 1939, she was united in marriage with Carl E. Wilson. They went to Boston, Mass., for her husband's seminary training. She attended some classes at Boston Univ. School of Theology, and was in charge of the information Desk.

After serving in a number of churches for about 40 years, they retired to an acreage near Troy and were active in the Troy UMC.

She was a member of The Eastern Star, Tri-T, P.E.O. Sisterhood, Troy Alumni Association and Blackaby Neighborhood Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.

Those who survive include: husband, Carl, Milton; daughter, Cean Wilson, Lima, Ohio; son Jonathan and daughter-in-law, Joanne, Des Moines; daughter and son-in-law, Jane Wilson and Vance Briddell, Pleasantville, eight grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law Clare and Leo Maiers, Altoona, PA.; sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Max Barker, Des Moines; brother, Carl Frederick Erhardt, near Dallas, Tex.; sister-in-law Betty Erhardt, West Burlington; sister-in-law Florence Erhardt, Bloomfield; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Nettie Wilson; sister-in-law, Isabel Wilson, of Syracruse, New York; 29 nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Her body has been donated to the University of Osteopathy Medicine and Health Sciences.

A memorial service was held Saturday, January 4, 1992, at the Troy United Methodist Church.

Interment of ashes will be at the Lebanon Cemetery at a later date.
