Marjorie P. Scovel

Marjorie P. Scovel, 71, of Route 3, died at 12:22 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, 1991, at Van Buren County Hospital.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fell Cemetery in Libertyville with the Rev. Thomas Clark officiating. The casket will be closed. Friends may register at Behner Funeral Home at their convenience. A memorial has been established to the family.

Mrs. Scovel was born June 13, 1920, near Libertyville, the daughter of Edmond and Lydia Campbell McCleary. She graduated from Libertyville High School High School. She married Vernon "Scoop" Scovel on July 22, 1939, in Lancaster, Mo. He died March 3, 1984. A homemaker, she had lived most of her life in Jefferson County.

Surviving are two sons, K. Blake of Keosauqua, Tony W. of Route 3 and three grandchildren. Her parents, a granddaughter and brother, Kenneth, preceded her in death.
