VELMA LEOLA FROST COX

Velma Leola Frost Cox, 71, Lisbon, a former Fort Madison resident, died Friday, May 2, 1986 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital. She had been injured in a two-car accident near Knoxville earlier Friday.

Mrs. Cox was born November 7, 1914 in Fulton County, Illinois and was a volunteer worker at the Veterans Administration Center, Iowa City, and an Emergency Medical Technician with the Mt. Vernon Ambulance Service. She was a member with the Lisbon Zoning Board and the Order of Eastern Star Order, Burlington.

On October 26, 1950, at Bonaparte, she was married to Stephen Cox, who preceded her in death in 1983.

Surviving are two sons, Bill Cox, Orient, Iowa and Lany Shearer, Lake Station, Indiana; a brother, Bill Frost, Lake Station; and six grandchildren.

Her parents were Dorsey and Liela Starr Frost.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 6 at the Bonaparte cemetery. The Rev. James Rozendaal officiated.

The Morgan Funeral Home, Mt. Vernon was in charge of arrangements.
