Rites Saturday for Talbott

ELDON - Charles E. Talbott, 86, died at 2:16 p.m. Thursday at his home in Eldon.

He was born March 13, 1900 in Galesburg, Ill., the son of Francis and Effie Newbanks Talbott.

Talbott farmed in the Selma and Douds area and was employed many years at the Eldon elevator. He was a member of the Eldon Assembly of God Church, an Odd Fellow and a volunteer fireman at Douds for a number of years.

He married Edith Locke on Feb. 16, 1921. She died May 14, 1970. A son, Robert, and two brothers, Clarence and Frank preceded him in death.

On June 16, 1971, he married Sarah Liles Laughlin at Douds. She survives.

Survivors also include a son, Roscoe of Waterloo; two stepsons, Floyd Laughlin of Douds and Stanley Lauglin of Fairfield; three stepdaughters, Frances Leisure of Princeton, Mo., Esther Crow of Bloomfield and Mabel Lunsford of Eldon; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Findlay of Casa Grande, Ariz.

Services ill be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Assembly of God Church in Eldon with the Rev. John Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery.

The family will be at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds from 7:30 - 8:30 tonight. Memorials may be made to his church.
