Pearl Epperly

BLOOMFIELD - Pearl Ivy Epperly, 96, died at 7:38 p.m. Aug. 6, 1980, at the Bloomfield Care Center.

She was born May 17, 1890, in Davis County to William and Minerva Sallady Minear. She was a member of the Milton Christian Church, was a former committee-woman for the Democratic Party in Davis County and a former director on the Old Settlers and Soldiers Reunion board in Drakesville, and was a cook at the Iamo Church Camp and Milton schools for several years. She also was a former Milton news correspondent for The Ottumwa Courier and Bloomfield and Keosauqua newspapers. She married Clyde Henderson Feb. 15, 1908, in Davis County. He died in September 1946. She married Leslie Epperly in may 1949 in Davis County. He died in August 1959.

She is survived by two sons, Vern Henderson of Drakesville and Paul Henderson of Brandon, Fla.; and four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildrn.

The service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Rev. Quentin Johnson officiating.

Burial will be in Drakesville Cemetery.

Friends may call at their convenience at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Milton Christina(err) Church and the Bloomfield Care Center.
