Adelaide J. Stites

MT. PLEASANT - Committal for Mrs. Adelaide J. Stites, 81, of 200 E. Warren, who died Sunday, Nov. 24, at Henry County Health Center, will be conducted by the Rev. Mark Matthews in Forest Home Cemetery 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials have been established at the Weir Funeral Home for the Church of the Open Bible and the Henry County Kidney Uint.

Mrs. Stites was born March 12, 1904, in Jefferson Township, Henry County, to Thornton E. and Alma May Cook Alter. She graduated from Wayne School of Nursing of Chicago. She was employed in the office of Dr. O. Geeseka, at Henry County Memorial Hospital, and at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant. She married Alva E. Stites March 7, 1954, in Mt. Pleasant; he died December 1969.

Mrs. Stites was a member of the Coppock Christian Church.

Surviving: A daughter, T. Josephine Young, Birmingham; two sisters, Margaret Shelangoski, Belle, Mo., and Martie Starr, Coppock; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
