LLOYD E. PHILP

Lloyd E. Philp, 73, of rural Farmington died Sunday, October 21, 1984 at 5:30 p.m. at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City.

Born October 17, 1911 at Montrose, he was the son of Ralph and Laura Boyce Philp.

He married Margaret E. Gallup September 21, 1936 at Burlington.

A retired farmer, he lived on the same farm 37 years. He also worked on the Rock Island Dredge Boat and was an adjuster at People's Mutual Insurance. He was a member of the Embury United Methodist Church and the Hardin Masonic Lodge at Montrose.

He is survived by his wife Margaret; two sons, Charles Philp of Iowa City and Neil Philp of Farmington; four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Marilyn) Ekle, Mrs. Duane (Barbara) Munford, both of Farmington, Mrs. Edwin (Joan) Rohdy of Donnellson, and Mrs. Jose (Jean) Lobo of Cost Rica; 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother and one grandson.

The funeral was held Wednesday, October 24, 1984 at 3 p.m. at the Hofbauer Funeral Home, Donnellson. The Rev. Donald Strickler officiated. Burial was in Sandusky Cemetery. Memorials to the Embury Methodist Church may be left at the Hofbauer Funeral Home.
