JOHN R. KELLER

John Raymond Keller, 79, of Route 3, Fairfield, died at 12:40 p.m. Friday, September 21, 1984 at Jefferson County Hospital.

He was born September 7, 1905 in Jefferson County to Anthony J. and Sylvia P. Loving Keller. John lived his entire life in Jefferson County farming in the Cedar Township area.

He married Bernice O. Warning on January 21, 1928 in Kahoka, Missouri. John is survived by his wife; two sons, Wayne R., Fairfield and Melvin D., Cantril; three daughters, Lois Roe, Keosauqua, Joyce Burton, Fort Madison and Jean Schuck, Stockport; daughters and sons-in-law Phyllis, Anna Belle, Lawrence, Jerry and John; 10 grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one sister, Mary Droz of Elgin, Illinois.

Funeral services were held on Monday, September 24, 1984 at St. Mary Cahtolic Church with the Rev. William Sullivan officiating. Burial was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Prayers for a Christian Wake were held on Sunday evening at Behner Funeral Home.

Memorials to the heart fund or the diabetes association have been established.

John R. Keller

John Raymond Keller, 79, of rural route 3, Fairfield died at 12:40 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at Jefferson County Hospital.

He was born Sept. 7, 1905 in Jefferson County to Anthony J. and Sylvia P. Loving Keller. John lived his entire life in Jefferson County, farming in the Cedar township area.

He married Bernice O. Warning on Jan. 21, 1928 in Kahoka, Mo. John is survived by his wife, two sons, Wayne R. of Fairfield; Melvin D. of Cantril; three daughters Lois Roe of Keosauqua; Joyce Burton of Fort Madison; and Jean Schuck of Stockport; daughter and son-in-laws; Phyllis, Anna Belle, Lawrence, Jerry and John; 10 great grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one sister, Mary Droz of Elgin, Ill.

John's main hobby was his love for horses. He helped to organize the Stockport Saddle Club, 31 years ago. At the time of his death, he was planning a horse show for September 23. The show was postponed and them was held on September 30, as the family knew this would be his wish.
