ELDON - Cynthia "Birdie" Nupp, 96, of Eldon died the evening of May 1, 1983, in River Hills Care Center at Ottumwa.

She was born Oct. 31, 1887, in Van Buren County to Enoch and Jamima Jane Turner Pool. She lived most of her life in Eldon.

She is survived by a daughter, Lillian Marie Allen of Ottumwa; a son, Robert of Eldon; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Lola McBride of Minnesota and Emily Moore of Escondido, Calif.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Eldon Cemetery, with Pastor L.R. Donoho officiating.

Campbell Funeral Home at Eldon is in charge of arrangements.
