Blanche Wireman

BIRMINGHAM - Blanche Wireman, 71, of 412 Oliver, Waterloo, died Thursday, Oct. 18, in American Health Care Center, Waterloo.

She was born at Birmingham April 18, 1913, to James and Alice Killion Wireman. She had been a resident of Waterloo for more than 22 years and had retired as teacher of the third grade in Roosevelt Elementary School, Waterloo. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, and National Education and Retired Teachers Associations.

Surviving: Sister Rita Shepherd, Burlington; two brothers, William Wireman, Media, Ill., and Francis Wireman, Cedar Falls.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday at Behner Funeral Home, Fairfield, the Rev. Clair Odell; Maple Hill Cemetery, Birmingham. An American Cancer Society memorial has been established.
