ERNEST D. EVANS

Ernest D. Evans, 82, of Farmington, died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, September 2, 1982 in the Keokuk Area Hospital.

Ernest was born February 1, 1900, at Dean, Iowa, and had spent most of his life in the Farmington area. he was the former owner and operator of the Standard Service Station in Farmington. He was a member of the Farmington Baptist Church.

On May 1, 1926, in Farmington, he married Vera Stansbury, who survives.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Willard (Edith) Hemmings and Mrs. Ardath (Margaret) Deere, both of Farmington; a brother, Albert Evans, also of Farmington; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. His parents were Albert and Berlin Clemens Evans.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 4, in the Farmington Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Worsham officiating. Burial was in Greenglade cemetery near Farmington. Hofbauer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established with the Farmington Baptist Church and contributions may be made at the Hofbauer Funeral Home.
