Mildred Topping, 75, dies

BIRMINGHAM - Mildred Florence Topping, 75, Birmingham, died Friday night at the Elm View Care Center in Burlington.

She was born Dec. 12, 1910, in the Mount Zion community south of Birmingham, the daughter of Samuel and Rosena Sherod Topping.

Topping lived her entire life in the Birmingham community and was a member of the Birmingham United Presbyterian church and United Presbyterian Women. She worked at the Birmingham Public Library for a number of years and was a Sunday School teacher.

She is survived by two brothers, Clem of Stockport and John of Fairfield, one sister, Gertrude Dille of Birmingham, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Mount Zion Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Charles McCracken officiating. Burial will be in Winchester Cemetery.

Friends may call at their convenience starting at noon Sunday at the Burch-Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham. Memorials may be made to the Birmingham Presbyterian Church Building Fund or the Cancer Fund.
