JAY SHERMAN HARLAN

Jay Harlan, 93, of Good Samaritan Center, Keosauqua, Iowa, formerly of rural Stockport died at the Van Buren County Hospital November 26, 1981, after failing health during the past month.

Born April 29, 1888 near Stockport, the son of Albert and Jane McVey Harlan, he married Ethel Helterbran on December 24, 1908, near Hillsboro. He was a farmer all his life on the same farm on which.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Delbert (Enid0 Faber, of Des Moines, and a son, Dr. C.E. Harlan of Ave, Mo., six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. One brother and one sister preceded him in death. One sister is still living, Mrs. Clarence (Floy) Fletcher, age 99 years, formerly of Stockport, now residing at the Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.

Rev. Lothar Lengtat at Fairfield officiated at the services held at the Behner Funeral Home, Fairfield, Ia., Sunday, November 29, 1981 at 1 o'clock and burial was in Spencer Cemetery, Stockport, Ia.
