Della Mae Morris

Della Mae Morris, daughter of John Wesley and Sarah Ann McGee, was born August 31, 1885, in Scotland County, Missouri, and departed this life February 3, 1974, at Memphis, Missouri.

On November 5, 1905, she was married to Ray F. Morris. He preceded her in death on September 26, 1972. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Guy, Edgar, and Charles. She is survived by one son, James, and his wife, LaRue Morris of Memphis, Missouri; two daughters, Winifred and husband, Milton Schuck of Fairfield, Iowa, and Velma and husband, Leonard Gieseker of Lombard, Illinois. She has eight grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Della spent most of her life nearby. She was a member of Brock Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held Tuesday February 5, 1974, at 2:00 p.m. from the Payne Chapel in Memphis, with the Rev. Mike Barrett officiating. Soloist was Kenneth Campbell, organist was Mrs. Ann Luther. Pallbearers were Steven L. Morris, John M. Schuck, Leonard R. Gieseker III, James R. Morris, James W. Gieseker, and Bernard Burke. Interment was in the Milton Cemetery, Milton, Iowa.
