Gerald Grosvenor

Gerald L. (Rocket) Grosvenor, 77, Coralville, a former Davis County resident, died Thursday, April 7, 1988 at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

He was born March 4, 1911 in Davis County to Waldo and Emma Rogers Grosvenor. He farmed in Davis County for a number of years before moving to Coralville where he worked for Slade Brothers Roofing Company.

He married Mildred F. Osing on Dec. 28, 1933 in Ottumwa.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Leonard of West Branch, Paul of San Bernadino, Calif., Cliford of Redlands, Calif., and John of Iowa City; seven daughters, Virginia Rysdam of Bloomfield, Pauline Osborne of Burlington, Ruth Enlow of Las Vegs, Nev., Barbara Stellinga of Hoskins, Neb., Kathy McKinney of Oskaloosa and Rhonda Steckman of Gladbrook; 38 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy of
Floris and Lloyd of Eldon; and a sister, Fanny Miller of Ottumwa.

The funeral was held Monday at the George L. Gay Funeral Home in Iowa City, conducted by the Rev. Quentin Johnson. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville.

A memorial has been established.
