Walter Grim

Walter S. Grim, 80, died at 9:59 a.m. Tuesday at the Bloomfield Care Center. He was a retired farmer.

He was born Jan. 19, 1903 to William and Jane Cowles Grim in Louisa County. He married Mabel Lorene Kline on April 25, 1925 in Bloomfield. She died June 4, 1954. He then married Esther May Lundy foster on Oct. 22, 1961 in Davis County.

He had lived in Davis County since 1912 and had belonged to the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church where he held many church positions. He was a present member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; four, daughters, Marie Benge of Bloomfield, Garnett Storm of Bettendorf, Florence Whisler of Eldridge and Karen Luther of Nashville, Tenn.; two sons, Dean and Wray, both of Bloomfield; two stepsons, Vern Foster of Clinton, Md. and Leslie Foster of Marquette, Mich.; a sister, Hazel Bowling of Bloomfield; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Wagler Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Ellis Andrews and the Rev. Elder. Burial will be in the Wesley Chapel South Cemetery in Davis County.

A memorial has been established to the Bloomfield United Methodist Church or the West Grove United Methodist Church.
