Harold Cassatt

Harold Cassatt, 83, of Bloomfield died Wednesday at the Bloomfield Manor in Bloomfield.

He worked for Oscar Mayer Co. in Davenport for 17 years as a machinist but lived most of his life in Milton and Bloomfield.

He was born in Davis County on October 8, 1898 to Edward and Martha Spraker Cassatt. He married Chloe Carruthers on August 27, 1921 in Bloomfield.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, James and Charles of Davenport, William of Sterling, Ill.; one daughter, Mary Spahr of El Cajon, Calif.; one brother, Ross of Bloomfield, 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Christian Church in Milton, the clergy will be Bruce Hofmann. Interment will be at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.

Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. tonight at Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

A memorial has been established to the Milton Christian Church.

The casket will be closed at the beginning of the service.
