William Nile Casady

William Nile Casady, 81, 409 N. West Street, Bloomfield, died Wednesday morning at his home.

He was born in Davis County near Troy on April 20, 1902 to Andrew and Margaret Foster Casady. He was a barber in Milton for 20 years and in Bloomfield for 12 years. He also worked for Schaeffer Pen Co. of Fort Madison from 1942 to 1958. He was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church and a past master of Masonic Lodge No. 413 in Douds.

He married Mabel Black on June 24, 1923 in Douds. She survives.

Also surviving are his wife; two sons, Charles of Council Bluffs and Gary of Bloomfield; two daughters, Bonita Hand of Bettendorf and Joyce Sheumaker of Burlington; two brothers, Harold of Des Moines and August of Marshalltown; one sister, Marie Zeitler of Douds; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers; one sister; and one grandson.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wagler Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Don Slaughter. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery at Milton.

A memorial has been established to the Bloomfield Christian Church.
