MABEL CARRUTHERS

Mrs. Mabel B. Carruthers, 92, of Good Samaritan Center in Ottumwa died June 10, 1980 at 6:15 a.m. (unreadable)

She was born Feb. 20, 1888, in Ottumwa to Scott and Emma Brumley Kirkhart and always lived in Ottumwa. She was a member of the Willard Street United Methodist Church. She married Kit C. Carruthers in June 1916 in Ottumwa. He died in 1947.

Survivors: a daughter, Eunice Newman of Keosauqua; a son, Paul E. of Ottumwa; a step-daughter, Isal Palmer of Ottumwa; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Della Taylor of Joliet, Mont.; and a brother, James Kirkhart of Olympia, Wash.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 1980 at Johnson Funeral Chapel, the Rev. James Dendler officiating with burial in Shaul Cemetery.
