Edith Van Fossen

The service for Edith Van Fossen, 88, who died Sunday, Jan. 10, was held Thursday, Jan. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Cantril Christian Church conducted by the Rev. James McKean. Burial was in the Cantril Cemetery.

A memorial has been established, payable to the Cantril Christian Church, of which she was a member.

A longtime resident of Cantril, she was born May 9, 1882, in Van Buren County, the daughter of Edmund and Rachael Downs Rider.

She is survived by two sons, Jo Francis Van Fossen of Chicago and Edmund Van Fossen of Ottumwa; one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Longaria of Des Moines; two grandchildren and oen great-grandchild.
