Thurlo J. Mills

A committal service for the cremated remains of Thurlo J. Mills, 83, of Des Moines, will be held Saturday, Jan. 9 at 4 p.m. in the Bonaparte cemetery. The Rev. Gerald Ogden will officiate. The Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home has charge of the service.

Mr. Mills died Dec. 31 in Broadlawns hospital, Des Moines.

He was born Dec. 25, 1887 at Bonaparte, the son of Lott and Lucy Wright Mills.

He was a member of the Forest Ave. First Baptist church, Des Moines and was a 50 year Mason.

Mr. Mills operated the Whitely store in Bonaparte for 13 years. He was employed as a clerk in the post office in Des Moines.

His only survivor is a second cousin, Wayne Townsend of Fort Madison.
