Mrs. Herbert Kapfer

Mrs. Herbert Kapfer of near Greenburg, Mo. died at the Davis Co. Hospital in Bloomfield on Tuesday, oct. 28, 1969. She was born on Jan. 25, 1888 in Mason County, Ill., the daughter of George Webber and Mary Elizabeth Robertson Rice, who moved to the Greenburg vicinity in 1903.

She was married Feb. 13, 1908 at the home of her parents to Herbert Kapfer of Baring, Mo. They lived in the Greenburg vicinity all of their married life and observed their 60th wedding anniversary Feb. 11, 1968 with open house at their home.

She is survived by her husband; three sons, Marvin Kapfer of Milton, Ia., Max and Earl of near Greenburg; two daughters, Ruth Kapfer at home and Mrs. Stanley (Velma) Adams of Arbela, Mo.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Rev. Hallie Rice of Independence, Mo., Dale and Roy Rice of Memphis, Mo.; four sisters, Mrs. Mable Carroll of Greeley, Colo., Mrs. Ethel Gardine of Memphis, Mrs. Mary Foley of Overland, Mo. and Mrs. Pearl Hackamack of Belleville, Ill.

Funeral services were held Oct. 30 at 2 p.m. at Greenburg Baptist Church, where Mrs. Kapfer had been a member for over 60 years. Rev. Carl Martin had charge of the services. Grandsons served as body bearers. Burial was in the Greenburg Cemetery.
