Mrs. Carrie L. Meyer

Mrs. Carrie L. Meyer, 76, of Bonaparte, died Friday, Oct. 10, at 10:50 p.m. in Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua, after a lengthy illness.

She was born June 8, 1893, near Bentonsport, the daughter of George and Mary Sadler Walter.

She married Clifford Meyer on July 8, 1921, at Bonaparte, and he survives.

Mrs. Meyer was a lifelong resident of the Bonaparte area, was a member of the Methodist church at Bentonsport and the Rebekah lodge.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Walter Meyer of Keosauqua, two stepsons, Harold Meyer of Nevada, and Sherman Meyer of Parker, Ariz.; three step-daughters, Mrs. Orpha Black of Upland, calif., Mrs. Opla Binsene of Spencer, and Mrs. Juanita Ackenback of Littleton, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Meyer, Bonaparte, Mrs. Nellie McCracken of Keosauqua; one brother Elmer Walter of Harlingen, Tex.; 7 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held Monday at 1:30 P.M. in the Bentonsport Methodist Church with the Rev. James M. Ford and the Rev. Milton Worthen officiating. Burial was in the Bentonsport Cemetery.

The arrangements were by Miller's Home for Funerals in Farmington.
