Mrs. Nella Whitmore

BONAPARTE - Mrs. Nella Whitmore, 89 formerly of Bonaparte died Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in a hospital in Kansas City, Kan.

Born November 24, 1880 in Bonaparte she was the daughter of Christian and Eva Barnhardt Schmidt.

She was married to Herbert Whitmore on December 31, 1901 at Bonaparte and he preceded her in death. They lived on a farm north of Bonaparte until five years ago. She was a member of the Methodist church.

Surviving are two sons, Bill of Ottumwa and Weldon of Bellevue, Wash., and one daughter, Mrs. Thelma Hitsman of Kansa City, Kan., 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter and 11 brothers and sisters in addition to her husband.

The funeral service will take place on Thursday in the Bonaparte Methodist church at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Edward Maus officiating. Burial will be in the Bonaparte cemetery.
