Earl T. Jenkins

Earl T. Jenkins, 64, of Keosauqua, died about 5 A.M. Sunday, Nov. 24 in the Memorial Hospital when he was taken on Saturday afternoon. He was born in Monroe County, May 28, 1904, the son of Richard Clara Dogan Jenkins.

He was married May 31, 1930 to Grace Walker, who survives. She taught in the Monroe County schools for a number of years and in 1956 moved to Keosauqua where she has taught fifth grad in the Van Buren Community school at the Keosauqua center.

In addition to Mrs. Jenkins, survivors are two sons, Clifford Jenkins of Omaha, Nebr., and Sp. 4/c Melvin Jenkins, stationed at Fort Meade, Maryland. There are two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Scott of Albia, and Mrs. Louis Johnson of Centerville; two sisters, Mrs. C.L. Savage, Ottumwa, Ottumwa, and Miss Helen Jenkins, Chillicothe; a brother, Brand Jenkins of Chillicothe. There are eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, at 11:00 A.M. at the Keosauqua Congregational Church, Rev. Millard Marshall, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery at Eddyville with graveside services there at 1:30 P.M. Arrangements were by Catcott Funeral Home, Keosauqua.
