Mrs. Andrew Nelson

Mrs. Bessie C. Nelson, 75, Fairfield, widow of Andrew J. Nelson, died at 9:10 P.M., Monday, Nov. 11 at Jefferson County Hospital, Fairfield. She had been seriously ill one week and in failing health several years.

Born June 21, 1893, at Winchester, in Van Buren County, she was the daughter of John H. and Mary Ada McCall Ford. Her first marriage was to Bert F. Carl. She was married to Mr. Nelson Feb, 9. 1915. He died May 31, 1966. She had lived in Van Buren and Jefferson Counties all her life.

Surviving are three sons, Raymond Carl and Roy L. Nelson of Fairfield and Lester M. Nelson of Moline, Ill.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, LeRoy of Loveland, Colo., and Clarence of Ottumwa; and one sister, Goldie Horn of Montrose.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday at Weston Behner Funeral Home, Fairfield, with the Rev. D.O. Van Dyne officiating. Burial in Maple Hill Cemetery, Birmingham.
