HOWARD J. PAYNE

Funeral services for Mr. Howard J. Payne, 51, of Salem, who passed away suddenly at his home Saturday, Aug. 6, about noon, were held Monday, Aug. 8, 1966 at 2:00 p.m. at the Beatty Funeral Chapel in Salem. Rev. Roscoe Townsend officiated.

Music was provided by Mrs. Gordon Watts, organist and Mrs. Delmar Barton, soloist.

Interment was in the Salem East Cemetery.

Bearers were Arlo Foss, Harold Fraise, Gifford Garmoe, Emmett Garmoe, Armand Keppler and Dee Spearman.

Mr. Payne was born May 18, 1915 at Kincaid, Kansas, the son of Charles and Maud Sarver Payne. He was a retired farmer and had been a resident of the Salem community the past 22 years. On July 5, 1954 he was married to Eva Lamb at Salem.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Darrell at home; his mother, Mrs. Maude Payne of Salem; and a sister, Mrs. J.H. (Ruth) Moeller of Salem. His father is deceased.
