Edwin Williamson

Mr. Edwin Williamson, 74, of Salem, passed away suddenly at his home Tuesday, April 19 at 1:00 a.m. He was a lifetime resident of Glasgow Community and a retired farmer, before moving to Salem five years ago.

Funeral services will be held at the Beatty Chapel in Salem, Thursday, April 21 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ardith Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Salem East Cemetery.

He was born at Stockport, Dec. 2, 1891, the son of Albert and Ida Durk Williamson. On Jan. 17, 1917 he was married to Mary M. Willis in Henry County. He was a member of the Glasgow Methodist Church and a member of I.O.O.F. Lodge of Glasgow.

He is survived by his wife Ida; a son Carl, R.R. 4, Mt. Pleasant, and a sister, Mrs. Wright Church of R.R. 4, Mt. Pleasant; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and a granddaughter.
