OBITUARIES
Mrs. William Brown

The services for Mrs. Zoe Ola Brown, who died Monday at the Van Buren County Home, Keosauqua, were held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Milton. Rev. Herbert Phillips officiated. Burial was in the Sunnyside Cemetery. The Wellborn Funeral Home was in charge.

The daughter of James Henry and Mabel Slater Johnson, she was born April 30, 1885, in Clay Center, Kansas. After the death of her father, she lived a year with an aunt, Mrs. Martha Metz of Missouri. She then joined her mother, sister and brothers in Milton. Mrs. Brown resided in Van Buren County most of her life. As a young woman she was employed as a printer at the Milton Herald. She also worked as a telephone operator at Milton and Troy. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

She married William F. Brown July 12, 1914. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Julian Grabowski, Memphis; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Myrtle of Lewiston, Idaho; a brother, Charles E. Johnson of Chicago, Illinois.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Jeannette in infancy and Mrs. Frank Janulis; a sister in infancy, and two brothers, Rex R. Johnson and Chester Johnson.
